[Bug 1146986] Re: Suspend only works once
Blanc, as per http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/default.page? an
update is available for your BIOS (5ecn96ww). If you update to this,
does it change anything?
If not, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of the following terminal command:
sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date
Thank you for your understanding.
** Description changed:
When I boot the computer, if I try to suspend everything works fine,
after coming back from suspend, when I try it again the screen will turn
black but instead of suspending the screen comes back on and the system
behaves exactly as it does after a successful suspend (I can type my
password and continue my session, all programs and drivers seem to work
fine).
Expected behavior:
1-System suspends gracefully the first time
2-System comes back upon user input and desktop is fully usable
3-System suspends gracefully the second time
4-System comes back upon user input and desktop is fully usable
...
Actual behavior:
1-System suspends gracefully the first time
2-System comes back upon user input and desktop is fully usable
3-System tries to suspend the second time
4-screen goes black for a momment
5-system comes back immediatly without user input
6-desktop is fully usable
further attempts to suspend result in the same behavior starting on step 3.

- I am using a Lenovo G480, model number 20149, with a 3rd gen. core i5.
- Attached is the information generated by 'ubuntu-bug linux' after the failed suspend attempt. This bug might be a recent regression, since I did not experience it about two weeks ago and I am not aware of any hardware changes.
