[Bug 1130489] Re: Kernel Crash with AMD/Intel Graphics Combination

karim shaban, could you please confirm this issue exists with the latest
development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ . If the issue remains,
could you please run the following command in the development release
from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will
automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this
report:

apport-collect -p linux <replace-with-bug-number>

Title:
[ASUS MAXIMUS IV GENE-Z/GEN3] BUG: unable to handle kernel NULL
  pointer dereference at (null); RIP:
  0010:[<ffffffff81414845>] [<ffffffff81414845>]
  intel_gtt_map_memory+0x75/0x160

Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  Using Ubuntu 12.10.

  Setup:
I have one monitor connected to my ATI Radeon HD 6800 card (via DVI) and one monitor connected via HDMI to my ASUS motherboard (the CPU has an Intel HD4000 built-in graphics card). The BIOS is set to have the PCI-E card as the default display.

  What happens:
When I boot, I see the display connected to the ATI card. If I then go into display settings, and try turning on the other monitor, the Kernel crashes spectacularly.

  The log is attached.

My installation is fully updated, but I have not installed any extra
AMD or Intel drivers. Regardless, I'm fairly certain the kernel should
  not be crashing like this.

Let me know if you need any extra info.
