Title:
Lenovo ThinkStation D30 4223 system unstable and freezes after resume
from suspend
Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
System has 11.10 installed on a Lenovo D30. During testing, the
system is placed in a suspend state (S3) and resumed. On resume,
however, the system appears to resume successfully, but then freezes
shortly after.
Steps:
Boot system
Log in and open a terminal
run this command:
# /usr/share/checkbox/scripts/sleep_test -s mem -w 20 -d
wait for system to suspend and auto wake
once woken, try opening more terminals and running commands
try opening firefox or another application
shortly, the desktop will be completely frozen and power-cycling is the only apparent way to return the system to a usable state.
Expeted outcome:
system wakes from suspend and is stable and does not freeze.
Additionally, the script listed above is part of checkbox and included
in every Ubuntu desktop install. It is used for demonstrative
purposes only. This issue is also completely reproducible usng pm-
suspend manually, or the Suspend option from the power menu.
