[Bug 1082544] Re: 8086:0116 [raring] [drm:i915_hangcheck_hung] *ERROR* Hangcheck timer elapsed... GPU hung

*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 946899 ***
    https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/946899

Same error here on my business laptop:

Lenovo T420 - see lspci and lsusb in attachement.
Kernel: 3.8.0-27-generic #40-Ubuntu SMP Tue Jul 9 00:17:05 UTC 2013 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

When this heppnes to me I found way how to get it again working without
any data loss: I press CTRL+ALT+F1 to get to console, where when I use
dmesg I get:

[ 3139.056647] [drm:i915_hangcheck_hung] *ERROR* Hangcheck timer elapsed... GPU hung
[ 3139.056652] [drm] capturing error event; look for more information in /debug/dri/0/i915_error_state

Then I press CTRL+ALT+F7 to get back to X11 console and screen is no
longer frozen and I can continue to work.

P.S.: /debug/dri/0/i915_error_state does not exist - /debug is not
found, but maybe it's my personal problem that I did not enabled
debugging at propper place.
