Title:
Radeon with X1350 no longer working in 12.10

Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
I have a Compaq 6820s with a ATI Mobil x1350 graphics "card". It works
fine with 12.04.01, i.e. the X11 radeon driver detects the chip.

After ugrading to 12.10, the radeon driver seems to be tried, but
  fails to find the X1350.

[ 294.253] (EE) Screen 0 deleted because of no matching config section.
  [ 294.253] (II) UnloadModule: "radeon"

The fallback to vesa isn't accpeptable, as this doesn't support the
  1440x900 resolution of the laptop.
