[Bug 1065897] Re: Resolution does not detects correctly
Andriy Beregovenko, as per
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=4132644&prodTypeId=12454&prodSeriesId=4132643&swLang=13&taskId=135&swEnvOID=4060#120
an update is available for your BIOS (1.13). If you update to this, does
it change anything?
If not, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of the following terminal command:
sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date
Thank you for your understanding.

Title:
Resolution does not detects correctly
Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
Since linux kernel 3.0(oneric) resolution does not detects correctly. intelfb can't set correct video mode for framebuffer and Xorg detects the only SVGA resolutions(max 1024x768) as well. But manually generated ModeLine for Xorg(via tool cvt) works fine (1920x1080 at 60.00Hz).
I have Core i5 650 and using its integrated GPU. My monitor Samsung SyncMaster E2220 is connected via VGA(DE-15) socket. I do not have DVI so could not test this connection.
I was hoped that in 12.04 LTS(or in 3.2 kernel) this will be fixed, but still it is not.
On Lucid and Natty all works fine.
If you need additional info, please let me know.
