Title:
upgrade from 12.10 to 13.04 has changed the path where a partition is
automatically mounted
Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
I have a NTFS partition labelled "NTFS_50GB".
I don't remember how I set it up, but it used to get automatically
mounted at /media/NTFS_50GB
Now, after upgrading from 12.10 to 13.04, this has changed and it gets
mounted at /medta/teo/NTFS_50GB
(teo is my username).
This breaks, among other things, a virtual machine of mine in VirtualBox that uses a file in that folder.
I guess I can easily fix that, but such things should not be touched by an upgrade without warning the user during the upgrade process.
I also have another partition that hasn't changed the place where it
gets mounted; I guess that's because I have explicitely configured
that in /etc/fstab. However, the upgrade manager should warn the user
about this change in the default mountpoint and also ask whether the
user whishes to accept the change or keep the setting as before.
