Title:
[Acer Aspire 5000] Kernel lets cpu getting heated up to the point of
  power-off

Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
I have an acer aspire 5002lwnmi laptop which has a amd processor.
Though the processor has ability to run on low frequency. During high
load the kernel let it run on high frequency untill it crosses the
threshhold to get power off. While the better would be to put it on
low frequrency to get it cool down a bit.
