[Bug 1036427] Re: 8086:422b [Lenovo ThinkPad ThinkPad X201] unreliability with Centrino Ultimate-N 6300 wireless connection, 802.11n
Christopher, no, I can't upgrade the BIOS; my wifi card its not Lenovo
branded, and I had to hack the whitelist in the BIOS to use the card at
all. In any case, this is an issue with the wifi card itself, so
unrelated to the system BIOS.
But the problem has not recurred with more recent kernel releases, so
closing as resolved.
** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu)

Title:
8086:422b [Lenovo ThinkPad ThinkPad X201] unreliability with Centrino
Ultimate-N 6300 wireless connection, 802.11n
Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
Fix Released
Bug description:
My laptop has been experiencing occasional drops from the 802.11n
wireless with the current kernel. When this happens, the card cannot
see any ESSIDs and spews the error "Request scan called when driver
not ready." If I try to unload and reload the module, I get an
"unable to init EEPROM" error.
Kernel log snippet follows below. The modprobe -r/modprobe happens at 13:25:39. Rebooting clears the error:
