[Bug 1061508] Re: System Boots Every Other Time

 

I have this bug on my Raring partition. I also run Ubuntu Saucy, Xubuntu
Saucy, Mint 15 and Windows 7 the same Lenovo Z565 AMD Turion(tm) II P540
Dual-Core Processor × 2  laptop.

I end up with a black screen when booting Raring on many occasions,
although I have yet to be able to reproduce the bug when I use the
advanced option and choose the most recent kernel instead.

  System Boots Every Other Time

  Incomplete

Bug description:
  After a fresh install of 12.04.1  the system boots every other time
  it's started or restarted.  When it doesn't boot the screen goes to
  sleep as the system hangs/freezes.  The system boots fine under
  10.04.4.

  Steps to reproduce:
  1)  Install using 12.04.1
  2)  Boot the system
  3)  If the system boots properly restart or shutdown the system
