[Bug 1212381] Re: Lenovo v4400u Boot failure and hang with a cursor

 

After some test applied with patch from https://lkml.org/lkml/2013/5/24/439,
and this issue is not reproduce on Thinkapd v4400u after 100 times poweroff test.

this patch was post to upstream and then backported to v3.5 Raring
kernel for test.

Bug description:
  Summary:
  Sometimes when booting or rebooting system, it will hang with a curor on the screen, and need to manually force poweroff/poweron by pressing power button

  Steps:
  1. Press power button to boot system
  2. Or reboot system several times

  Actual result:
  System hang with a cursor before login page

  Expect result:
  Boot into system successfully without any error
