Title:
Backlight off after resume from suspend (on lid-close only) on Compaq
Mini 110c-1000
Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
Invalid
Bug description:
=== Problem ===
Just close the lid of my netbook and wait until it suspends.
Open the lid and wait for it to power up. The machine is running but no backlight. I can "see" that something is on the screen.
=== Workaround ===
After digging through the forums I found a workaround: just change the brightness with Fn+F3 or Fn+F4.
=== Upstream Testing ===
Fixed on 2.6.35 6/15/10 daily/current Mainline build.
=== Debugging ===
Suspending from console using pm-suspend works normally (backlight comes back on after resume).
If the lid-close setting is changed to "Black screen", the lid can be closed and re-opened and the backlight comes back on at as expected.
=== Additional Information ===
The strange thing is that this didn't happen with 9.10 or 10.4 (updated from 9.10). I had to reinstall the machine (broken HDD) and this started to happen.
I saw similar reports but not quite the same.
