Title:
Multitouch on Laptop tuchpad is not working anymore.
Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
Hi, I'm from Germany so please excuse if you don't understand everything fully because of my English.
I have an Asus UL80V. My problems started after the last kernel update a couple of days ago. Everything worked fine with kernel version 2.6.32-32 and if I start Ubuntu again with the older kernel, I have none of the issues.
With the old kernel I have several Multitouch gestures. 2 finger touch
was the middle mouse button, 3 finger touch was right mouse click.
Moving up and down on the touchpad with 2 fingers was scrolling in the
hovered application. In this case the mouse cursor did not move.
If I start Ubuntu with kernel 2.6.32-33 these functions are not working properly. 2 Finger touch is now right click and 3 finger touch is the middle mouse button. The Scrolling function is not supported anymore.
If I use 2 fingers the mouse is just moving instead.
Additionally if i touch the touchpad with 2 fingers (for scrolling or a mouseclick) if I touch first with a finger on the right, and the second finger is further left, the mouse cursor is jumping left on my screen depending on the distance of my fingers. The same is happening for to fingers if the first touch was above the second touch, and the cursor jumps down. It is not happening for the other directions. That means, if you touch first left, and then further right, the cursor stays where it is. If touching bottom first and then further above it, most times nothing is happening to the cursor, but sometimes it is jumping further to the top, but not much and this behavior seems to be just random times.
I hope this is already helpful.
