Title:
IRQ handling issues on sandy bridge board
Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
Invalid
Bug description:
I7-2600 on sandy bridge board goes in to slow mode due to interrupt
(handling?) problems. (Ubuntu 2.6.38-11.48-generic 2.6.38.8)
(FYI: there are a few instances on this kernel problem published on
the web. Depending on what hardware is affected symptoms do change)

The system is then slow until i disable and re-enable networkingIE.
Probably due to Ethernet being on IRQ16.
By slow i mean extremely slow graphics, slow keyboard response, jerky
mouse movement.

I agree that primarily one would expect vmware to be (part of) the cause, but there are many others indicating similar issues without vmware
