Summary
There is a regression from kernel.org 2.6.23 to 2.6.24 in the qla2xxx
driver which prevents Qlogic Fibre Channel adaptors to work properly
under certain conditions. The fix is trivial (one line changed) and
was applied to upstream 2.6.25.
In my case, I got our SAN working by manually applying the patch to
the ubuntu kernel sources (version 2.6.24-19-server).
I strongly recommend to apply the patch to the hardy kernel.
