Title:
[TOSHIBA Satellite L30] suspend/resume failure
Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
I have had issues with resuming from suspend for a long time (possibly from just after the KMS migration).
Suspend is one of those features that I have never really used, but now I am doing a lot of long train journeys it is a very nice feature to have, so I thought I would post a bug report.
Anyway the laptop seems to suspend fine but refuses to wake back up.
Usually when you press the power button to resume the HDD LED will
light up and then system powers off again a couple of seconds later
and restarts to do the same thing in an endless loop, you have to
press the power button to get it out of this endless cycle to force a
cold start.
I am convinced that this is caused by the graphics driver as booting
without the radeon driver loaded (with kernel arg nomodeset) allows
the system to resume and suspend just fine.
The laptops specified model is the L30-10V.
The graphics card is a Radeon Xpress 200M.
Along with the current Ubuntu 13.04 kernel I have tested the latest
upstream and also a vanilla kernel with the same results.
I have also tested the latest Fedora live disk with the same behaviour
so I believe this is a kernel bug.
