[Bug 1174088] Re: nouveau doesn't initializes LVDS correctly

 

dac922, thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to
make Ubuntu better. However, I am closing it because the bug has been
fixed in the latest development version of Ubuntu - Saucy Salamander.

This is a significant bug in Ubuntu. If you need a fix for the bug in
previous versions of Ubuntu, please perform as much as possible of the
SRU Procedure [1] to bring the need to a developer's attention.

Bug description:
  After upgrading to Lubuntu 13.04 (actual kernel 3.8.0-19) my notebook
  display shows some undefined crap.

  Rebuilding nouveau.ko with following patch

  https://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/stable/linux-
  stable.git/commit/drivers/gpu/drm/nouveau/core/subdev/bios/init.c?id=f6853faa85793bf23b46787e4039824d275453c2

  and replacing to old nouveau.ko in /lib/modules.. and initrd fixed
  this issue.
