[Bug 377483] Re: DVD PATA-SATA bridge (SPiF223A) doesn't work...
Jorg K, thank you for your comment. So your issue may be dealt with as soon as possible, and so your hardware may be tracked by having necessary debugging information automatically attached, could you please file a new report with Ubuntu (not Mint) by executing the following in a terminal while booted into the default Ubuntu repository kernel via:
ubuntu-bug linux

Bug description:
DVD drive connected using JAE50 PATA-SATA adapter doesn't work.
Motherboard - Zotac 610i (nvidia nForce 610i), DVD drive - HP TS-L16C
(I tried also another drives - they doesn't work too). Under windows
this drive works fine. PATA-SATA adapter is based on Satalink SPiF223A
chip.
I tried to boot using acpi=off, noapic, pci=nomsi options but no
success. Also I tried to boot ubuntu dvd but failed during kernel
startup. Also I tried kernel from Ubuntu 9.04 (2.6.28) but it failed
to attach DVD too.
