  Latest linux kernel update breaks wifi

Bug description:
  After updating to 3.13.0-44 the wifi is not present in the list of
  available network interfaces.

  lsmod reports that the bcmwl driver is loaded, but that has no effect
  on the network manager.

  The prior kernel 3.13.0-43 had a working wifi, and is the one I am
  using at the moment.
