Title:
Suspend and hibernate does not work after using bluetooth internet
  tethering

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
I am unable to suspend or hibernate my Thinkpad X201 laptop after I
use bluetooth tethering with my Nexus S phone.

Here are the steps to reproduce it.

  1. Boot up computer into Ubuntu 11.10

  2. At the login screen, close lid to enter 'suspend' mode. Suspend is
  entered successfully.

  3. Reopen the lid. Screen shows login window.

  4. Login with correct credentials. GNOME desktop appears on screen.

  5. Close lid to enter 'suspend' mode. Suspend success.

  6. Reopen the lid. Locked session login window appears. Enter correct
  credentials. Back to desktop.

  7. (Bluetooth phone has been previously paired). Click on Network icon
and select "Nexus S Network" to tether via bluetooth.

  8. Wait for tethering to succeed.

  9. Close lid (or Fn F4 to activate sleep mode). Sleep indicator
flashes for a while, then locked screen login window appears on
  screen. Suspend failed.

  Extra information:

  1) The release of Ubuntu you are using, via 'lsb_release -rd' or System -> About Ubuntu
  Ubuntu 11.10

   2) The version of the package you are using, via 'apt-cache policy pkgname' or by checking in Software Center
  Linux kernel 3.0.0-16-generic

   3) What you expected to happen
My computer should enter Suspend or Hibernate mode.

   4) What happened instead
The sleep light flashes for a while, then the login panel appears on the screen.
