[Bug 1420122] Re: decrypt setup fail after upgrade from 14.04 to 14.10

 

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer
to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest
v3.19 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following
tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag:
'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot, please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'.
Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as "Confirmed".

Title:
  decrypt setup fail after upgrade from 14.04 to 14.10

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  tried to report this in here as i believe this might be the same issue => https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1391496
  somebody didnt like it so:

  after upgrade from fully working 14.04 version, only possible work
  around working for me is to reboot with ctrl+alt+del => in the grub
  menu advanced options => recovery mode > loads the screen and appears
  to be stopping, but u can type and click enter and it procceds
