[Bug 1363017] [NEW] Resolution breaks on external monitor after 3.13.0-35 update

You have been subscribed to a public bug:

I have a second monitor on DisplayPort, and its list of supported
resolutions was limited to 800x600 and 1024x768 after the latest kernel
update.

I was able to restore the native resolution (1440p) for the monitor
using xrandr.

I'm on Ubuntu 14.04.1 and the GPU is the integrated one on a Haswell
CPU. DisplayPort is run through a Thinkpad laptop dock.

What I did:
Installed the latest Ubuntu kernel update, as recommended by Software Updater

What I expected to happen:
Resolution of external monitor should not have been affected

What happened instead:
Supported modes for external monitor were removed, had to use xrarnd to restore native resolution
