[Bug 1430055] Re: USB Soundbar 413c:a503 not working

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer
to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest
v4.0 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following
tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag:
'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot, please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'.
Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as "Confirmed".

Thanks in advance.

Title:
  USB Soundbar 413c:a503 not working

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
Dell ACS11 USB Soundbar with USB ID 413C:A503 works fine in linux
kernel 3.13-0-45-generic and earlier kernel releases.

In 3.13.0-46 dmsg shows messages when the soundbar is pluged in and
unpluged. However it is not listed by alsa or pulseaudio.

Boot with the 3.13.0-45 kernel restores normal functionality.

  1) Release: Ubuntu 14.04.2 LTS
  2) Version: 3.13.0-46.77
  3) I expect to see the Dell ACS11 USB SounBbar listed as an audiodevice in pavucontrol
  4) The SoundBar does not show up in pavucontrol
