[Bug 1215655] [NEW] kernel panic when starting jack with line6usb-device selected as input

You have been subscribed to a public bug:

I have a Line6 UX1 external USB soundcard connected to my HP Pavillion dv7 laptop.
I've done a fresh install of Ubuntu Studio 13.04

Connecting the UX1 device works, and I can see in the volume mixer that
sound comes into the input of the card.

The USB device is shown as hw:1 and hw:1,0 in the menu in qjackctl where I can select the input source, but if I select either of these, I get a kernel panic immediately when trying to start jack.
Selecting any other device will not produce a kernel panic, but it will also not allow me to use the Line6 UX1 device as an input for jack.

See attached screenshot for what shows when the kernel panics (unable to
do a proper screenshot on such a crash, so a mobile phone photo will
have to do).

If any other debug information is required I'll be happy to do so, just
give me instructions on how to acquire the information.
