[Bug 1431002] Re: Brightness Issue
Did this issue start happening after an update/upgrade? Was there a
prior kernel version where you were not having this particular problem?
Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer
to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest
v4.0 kernel[0].
If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following
tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.
If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag:
'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.
If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot, please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'.
Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as "Confirmed".
Thanks in advance.

Title:
Brightness Issue
Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
I cannot figure out how to change the brightness for my Lenovo Y-510P
laptop. I go to brightness settings and it will not let me change the
brightness at all and defaults to the brightest setting and drains my
battery. I also have specific keys to change the brightness which also
will not work. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am not much of
a computer programmer so I am not very savvy so any help would be
greatly appreciated.
