Title:
Ubuntu thinks Enter/Return key is being held in depressed position
Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
New
Bug description:
Device in question is Asus EP121 slate and has Ubuntu 12.04 LTS
installed. Device is touchscreen and has no keyboard/mouse attached.
Upon logging into Unity desktop, Ubuntu acts as if the Enter/Return
key is being pressed and held. Tapping the Ubuntu logo to open the
unity dashboard results in hundreds of instances of Home folder being
opened until i either manually restart or the computer crashes.
Opening terminal window is pointless because enter is being "held" and
it just returns to a new line without being able to type anything.
Opening any application results in whatever the default button (if
any) being depressed by Enter.
Ubuntu behaves fine if you physically connect a keyboard and press the
enter button. Software updates current as of 12/25/2012. No
proprietary drivers are found for the system.
1) The release of Ubuntu you are using: Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS
2) The version of the package you are using: na
3) What you expected to happen: to be able to use Ubuntu on touch based x64 computer
4) What happened instead: unless physical keyboard/mouse is available, OS is useless on EP121
