Bug description:
  wlan0 worked approximately 3 months ago, when I last booted this
  system, but upon updating and rebooting, my wireless NIC stopped
  working.

  This is essentially identical to 951687, except that:
  - it is still a problem, and
  - Christopher M. Penalver told me to open a new bug for this problem.
