Those two commits were not cc'd to stable.   Once these commits are
accepted in mainline, we should request inclusion in the upstream stable
kernels, and SRU to Ubuntu.

  Note that I am forcing the audio into HDA mode. (It has two modes: HDA
  and I2S.) In HDA mode, audio out works. The mic is known with a
  previous version of ALSA (Sept 3 2014 snapshot).
