Both fixes are now in Utopic & Vivid. The fix is only required for
Trusty

Bug description:
  System: Ubuntu 14.04 LTS 
  Kernel: 3.16.0-31.43 
  kexec-tools: 2.0.7-1ubuntu2 (amd64) 
  makedumpfile: 1.5.5-2ubuntu1.1 

  This problem has been fixed by following patches on makedumpfile
  V1.5.6.
