Hi guys,

although everywhere in the internet this problem is claimed to be fixed
with the 1.1 BIOS update, I'm still experiencing the shutdown error. I'm
running Ubuntu 14.04, and my output to

"sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date"

is "V1.10, 10/24/2014".

I've tried to apply the BIOS update via Windows 7 and Windows 8, but the
flash utility claims I'm already running the newest BIOS version (as was
to be expected).  Do you have any further ideas? I can't find any other
users on the internet who still experience that bug.

  Acer Aspire ES1-311-P1D5 won't shutdown after system halted

Bug description:
  I am running Ubuntu 14.10 on my notebook and my system won't shutdown
  after it halted. It worked with Fedora Linux which used Kernel 3.11. I
  tried the four latest Mainline Kernels which didn't work either.
  Currently I am running the latest Kernel from the repos: 3.16.0-25.33

  I tried different kernel parameters like acpi=force and so on, but It
  also didn't work. I am not sure what else to do.

  Reboot also does not work.
