Not sure if this is helpful bug info for you or not but right after writing
my response I did have an issue. I plugged my galaxy s5 into my laptop
last night to charge. For some reasons ubuntu seems to have a problem with
it, it will randomly pop up messages that it can't mount it ut then pop up
the Files app showing the contents, I had a dozen or so of those so I did I
right click quit and at the same time my transmission dl dropped to a
crawl. I did a speed test after closing transmission and my DL speed was
only 5Mbps, I reset adapter ant tested again and it is back to normal
15Mbps. I never dropped completely though, so it is possible what I did
was a partial fix.
