Title:
[Dell Latitude E6440] suspend leads to black screen, laptop does not
  enter sleep.

Status in linux-lts-quantal package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  I have a Dell Latitude E6440 laptop
  (http://www.ubuntu.com/certification/hardware/201306-13687/), with the
switchable AMD graphics option, running Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS.

I followed the installation instructions provided by Dell:
  http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/rc1046313/DriverDetails/Product/latitude-e6440-laptop?driverId=Y24FF&osCode=1204A&fileId=3332894306&languageCode=EN&categoryId=CS

And after installation of Ubuntu and the Dell driver package, the
laptop is running very well. However, I suffer from a bug preventing
my laptop to suspend. On suspend, the screen just turns black but the
laptop is still powered on. None of the key combinations I tried was
able to restore the display, forcing me to do a hard shut down.

Suspend sometimes does work but is very rare. I could not identify a
pattern. One time where suspend worked consecutively, I got a kernel
panic, which I took a screenshot of using my phone.

I have also tried performing suspend on Ubuntu 12.04.3 using both Live
CD and a clean install, but same thing happens. I also have an install
of Debian Unstable, same symptoms with suspend on kernel version 3.12
  and 3.13.

Please let me know what type of information I can provide to help fix
this bug. Please be verbose, as my kernel debugging skills are non-
  existent.
