[Bug 1461261] Re: 14.04 linux-generic-lts-vivid but no vivid firmware

https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-firmware shows that it has
been released, and I just checked manually to verify that it's available
in both the security and updates pockets. I have no idea why
packages.ubuntu.com says otherwise.

Bug description:
  Hello

Within Ubuntu 14.04 its possible to install the "vivid" kernel, but,
the linux-firmware package is for an older kernel.

  schreiner@xps13:~$ modinfo iwlwifi | grep 7265
  firmware: iwlwifi-7265D-10.ucode
  firmware: iwlwifi-7265-10.ucode

I had to install the vivid linux-firmware package to get the wireless
  running again.

  Is there a better solution?

  Regards Dominik
