[Bug 1461703] Re: Update Mediatek(Ralink) RT2870/ RT2770/ RT3572/ RT3070 firmware
UPDATE: I loaded the "new" firmware but noticed that the version
provided (0.22) is older than linux-firmware-provided one (which is
0.29)
It should be something wrong, investigating...

Title:
Update Mediatek(Ralink) RT2870/ RT2770/ RT3572/ RT3070 firmware
Status in linux-firmware package in Ubuntu:
New
Bug description:
Hi linux-firmware maintainers, I noticed that the
/lib/firmware/rt2870.bin firmware blob is not same as the latest
version acquired from the manufacturer's
website(http://www.mediatek.com/zh-TW/downloads/firmware-rt28xxrt30xx-
usb-series-rt2870rt2770rt3572rt3070/). The md5sum of the
manufacturer's one is 2bb89af3a7d446deb4695c9a3daa7f9d while the
version provided by linux-firmware is
36c944c3138125605d28c0a3a1338be9.
Please update it if the linux-firmware provided one is not the latest
version(although I have no idea what advantages it may bring out)
