the failures,

klog: CRITICAL Kernel message: [ 65.525899] CPU0: Package temperature above threshold, cpu clock throttled (total events = 1)
are from the kernel warning about the temperature too high and start the CPU clock throttled which caught by fwts.
this should not be any software issues. Might the HW or cooling issue of the machine.

Title:
[Lenovo W550s] 'Run Firmware Test Suite (fwts) desktop-specific
diagnosis tests' test case is always fail.
Status in HWE Next Project:
New
Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
CID : 201412-16338 Lenovo W550s (I+N) with 14.04.2 (utopic)
Steps:
1. Install 14.04.2 on W550s
2. Install Plainbox and run test case 'Run FWTS desktop-specific diagnosis tests.'
Expected result:
Test result should be pass.
Actual result:
==================
ADVICE: Test caused CPU temperature above critical threshold. The CPU has been
throttled to run slower because of over-heating above the critical threshold.
CPU throttling will be turned off once the CPU has cooled sufficiently. Frequent
throttling may indicate poor thermal design on the machine.
