[Bug 1463211] Re: mustang board doesn't reboot

This bug is awaiting verification that the kernel in -proposed solves
the problem. Please test the kernel and update this bug with the
results. If the problem is solved, change the tag 'verification-needed-
vivid' to 'verification-done-vivid'.

If verification is not done by 5 working days from today, this fix will
be dropped from the source code, and this bug will be closed.

See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how
to enable and use -proposed. Thank you!

Title:
  mustang board doesn't reboot

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released
Status in linux source package in Vivid:
  Fix Committed
Status in linux source package in Wily:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
  [Impact]

   * The "reboot" command fails to reboot the system. Instead it hangs
  here:

[ OK ] Stopped Remount Root and Kernel File Systems.
Stopping Remount Root and Kernel File Systems...
[ OK ] Reached target Shutdown.
  [ 38.876665] reboot: Restarting system

  [Test Case]

   * sudo reboot (check that the system reboots)

  [Regression Potential]

   * Low; we've supported this in both trusty and utopic using non-
upstream patches - this just achieves parity.

  [Other Info]
Thee needed patch is currently non-upstream. It has been submitted multiple times, but don't appear to be getting any responses (negative or otherwise) from upstream. We'd hoped for them to go upstream before backporting, but at this stage we're getting scarily close to 14.04.3, and we don't want to ship an LTS installer that can't reboot after install.
