[Bug 1210848] Re: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS - intel ips failed to update for more than 1s

We are still using a blacklist for ASUSTek G60JX laptops in the Ubuntu
kernel. Would it be possible for you to install Ubuntu on the other
harddisk and then install the latest mainline kernel to see if the bug
still happens? If it does, I'd like to create a new patch and avoid the
blacklist.

The latest mainline kernel can be download from:
http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v4.2-rc2-unstable/

Bug description:
This has been flooding my logs. I also think it is preventing me from
shutting down fully. I get an error on shutting down that says it
failed to kill running processes. This is also an issue on 13.04 fully
  updated as of today.
