[Bug 1475563] Re: Crash Immediately after Driver Crash

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer
to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest
v4.2 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following
tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag:
'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as
"Confirmed".

Thanks in advance.

Title:
  Crash Immediately after Driver Crash

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
Just finished reporting another bug #1475561

Had a quick google to see if I could find a way to kickstart the
graphics driver without a reboot, google's response was something like
'sudo service lightdm restart' should handle rebooting the driver.

That resulted in the virtual console (which I had switched to on the
crash) freezing and breaking. Following a hard reset everything is
  back to normal.

SYSlOG shows several crashes, so there may be more bug reports coming
  soon...
