Title:
Problem with kernels on Intel Bay Trail platform
Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
When kernels 3.13.xx mainline is installed the system works rather
stable on Intel Bay Trail platform.I mean exactly Packard Bell Easy
Note EN TF71BM notebook. One uses Intel CPU N2830. There are two
known problems: build in broadcom bluetooth does not work at all and
Intel CPU turbo mode (2,41 MHz) does not work. To use cpu clock
governors properly it is necessary to remove cpufreqd and cpufrequtils
packages, but maximum frequency is 2,19 MHz
When kernels 3.19.xx are installed the system does not even start.
When default kernel 3.16.33 for Mate 14.04.2 LTS is installed the
system starts but there are problems with mouse pad. 2,41MHz turbo
mode works and bluetooth also works. There are problems to close
system. When 14.04.2 LTS gets 3.16.xx kernel updates the system does
not even start up.
So Mate 14.04.1 is quite usable with 3.13.xx kernels on EN TF71BM but
14.04.2 makes a lot of problems and finally is unusable.
