Removing the nvidia drivers and bbswitch allowed my computer to boot to

Title:
Lightdm and xorg fail to start console shows
[drm:intel_dp_start_link_train] *ERROR* too many voltage retries, give
  up

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
Lightdm and xorg fail to start console shows
[drm:intel_dp_start_link_train] *ERROR* too many voltage retries, give up.
The above error may be a red-herring as it appears in boots of 3.13.0-59 albeit less frequently, and definitely not as the last message.

The issue affects the 3.13.0-62-generic on an asus ux32vd.
3.13.0-59-generic functions. I will test the intermediate kernels as
  well and report back.
