Title:
Sound Card Detected, but only headphone sound
Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
Invalid
Bug description:
Hello everyone, I'm using 8.04 Hardy with KDE 3, updated to
04/20/2008. I have to say it's rock solid and fast, you've done a
great job, again! Congratulations!
Ok, first of all, I'm on a Laptop. I have a problem with my sound,
Hardy detects the sound card, when I run:
cat /proc/asound/card0/codec#* | grep Codec
I get:
Codec: Realtek ALC885
So, sound card is detected, but sound only comes out from headphones
and no sound from integrated speakers, I've read that on the 6.06
there was the same bug and followed the steps to fix it, but didn't
work, I tried installing backports, installing kernel 386 (but with
this kernel the sound card wasn't detected), re-installed the latest
alsa, nothing worked.
I also changed the alsa-base and added "options snd-hda-intel
model=3stack" also tried changing the model, nothing fixed the
problem.
Another thing that is worth mentioning is that on 7.10 the sound
worked perfectly!
Thanks.
Serpentus
