[Bug 1476900] Re: Backport Intel 8260 Wifi/BT firmwares

 

Rahul: In order for your wifi to work you either need to be running
running kernel version 4.1 or later or else be using a iwlwifi backport
driver from that kernel version or later. The standard kernels for 14.04
and 15.04 do not support this hardware (at least not with any publicly
released version of the firmware), but the kernel in wily does.

Bug description:
  Both Intel 8260 Wifi and Bluetooth firmwares are now available in
  mainline linux-firmware and has been tested. Vivid currently doesn't
  support Intel 8260 Wifi and BT, and need to backport the firmwares.
