Title:
[Feature] Allow intel_pstate to be used for HWP support only
Status in intel:
Fix Released
Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
Fix Released
Bug description:
Some people might wish to use acpi_cpufreq + governor of their choice
for legacy p-state selection, and only use intel_pstate if they are on
a platform which supports hwp. We need to provide an option to these
users to load intel_pstate only if HWP is supported, and if not, exit
and allow acpi_cpufreq to be used instead.
Schedule:
kernel: 4.0
d64c3b0 intel_pstate: provide option to only use intel_pstate with HWP
