[Bug 523683] Re: Mouse not working for Fujitsu FMV Deskpower LX70W/D

Daniel Valasco, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been
any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an
issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development
release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ .

If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in
the development release from a Terminal
(Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will automatically gather
and attach updated debug information to this report:

apport-collect -p linux <replace-with-bug-number>

Also, could you please test the latest upstream kernel available following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds ? It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Please do not test the daily folder, but the one all the way at the bottom. Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please comment on which kernel version specifically you tested. If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tags:
kernel-fixed-upstream
kernel-fixed-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER

where VERSION-NUMBER is the version number of the kernel you tested. For example:
kernel-fixed-upstream-v3.11

This can be done by clicking on the yellow circle with a black pencil icon next to the word Tags located at the bottom of the bug description. As well, please remove the tag:
needs-upstream-testing

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the following tags:
kernel-bug-exists-upstream
kernel-bug-exists-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER

As well, please remove the tag:
needs-upstream-testing

Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug's
Status as Confirmed. Please let us know your results. Thank you for your
understanding.

Title:
Mouse not working for Fujitsu FMV Deskpower LX70W/D

Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
This is a RF Keyboard/Mouse combo of a japanese FMV Deskpower LX70W/D

The keyboard is detected by evdev right, but works with some minor
  flaws.

The mouse is also detected by evdev, but x and y axis are not
detected, and instead, two extra buttons are reported:

  Input driver version is 1.0.0
Input device ID: bus 0x3 vendor 0x4c5 product 0x1151 version 0x110
Input device name: "FUJITSU Fujitsu RF Comfort Keyboard/Mouse IV"
  Supported events:
    Event type 0 (Sync)
    Event type 1 (Key)
      Event code 272 (LeftBtn)
      Event code 273 (RightBtn)
      Event code 274 (MiddleBtn)
      Event code 275 (SideBtn)
      Event code 276 (ExtraBtn)
    Event type 2 (Relative)
      Event code 6 (HWheel)
      Event code 8 (Wheel)
    Event type 4 (Misc)
      Event code 4 (ScanCode)
  Grab succeeded, ungrabbing.

The mouse has never worked since ubuntu 7.04, and also has been tested
in other distros with similar results.

  I made a cat /dev/input/b/dev/input/by-id/usb-
  FUJITSU_Fujitsu_RF_Comfort_Keyboard_Mouse_IV-event-if01, and tried
moving the mouse, with no garbage in screen. Wheel movements, button
and wheel clicks produce garbage in the screen.

I tried to create rules for udev to modify this mouse so it's detected
as mouse, but I'm not an expert and I'm almost sure the didn't worked.

Tested in Windows Vista and Seven with no special drivers and worked out of the box.
