[Bug 1476869] Re: System Freeze

Juan Robles, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu
better. As per http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-
netbooks/lenovo-g-series-laptops/g40-45-notebook-lenovo an update to
your computer's buggy and outdated BIOS is available (38). If you update
to this following https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BIOSUpdate does it
change anything?

If it doesn't, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of the following terminal command:
sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date

For more on BIOS updates and linux, please see
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Bug_reporting_etiquette
.

Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so
posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful. As well, you don't
have to create a new bug report.

Once the BIOS is updated, and the information above is provided, then
please mark this report Status New.

Thank you for your understanding.

Title:
  System Freeze

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Good Afternoon

I have Ubuntu 14.04 LTS in my computer (Lenovo G40-45, 6.7 GB RAM, AMD
A8-6410 APU with AMD Radeon R5 Graphics × 4 processor and Gallium 0.4
on AMD MULLINS for graphics), I was using google chrome ver Versión
43.0.2357.134 (64-bit) for check my email and watch some videos, when
suddenly, the system completely froze, except for my mouse : I could
not change desktop, open a terminal or do anything else, so I had to
  hard reboot the PC.

This doesn't happen very often (this happened again one time last
month), but I don't want to damage the computer with these hard
reboots , I checked the kernel log, and around the time this happened,
and I saw something about a lockup on CPU3 and later on CPU2, I think.

  Thank you for your help.
