[Bug 1499491] Re: Display connected on DisplayPort turns black during boot and never returns

Hi Christopher,

Thank you for your time.
As requested I have updated the BIOS from the BIOS interface itself.
The display connected on Display port behaves exactly the same as before :
- It is on during bios startup
- It is on during grub menu
- It is on and showing the first lines during linux boot.
- It turns black after about one second (probably when radeon module is loaded).
- it stays black when xorg is started
- It seems to be recognised by randr but never displays anything.

Here are the results of the dmidecode commands :
sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date
2601
03/24/2015

Regards.

Title:
Display connected on DisplayPort turns black during boot and never
  returns

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
The display connected on my R9 290 through DisplayPort connection
turns black during boot and never comes back again.

According to the power led, it is up and does not turn into power
  saving mode.

According to xorg.0.log and System Settings / Display the display is
  perfectly detected.

This display worked perfectly fine using the same DisplayPort cable,
running the same driver on my Radeon HD 6670.
