Title:
[Lenovo V480] Unable to suspend by closing the lid with NVIDIA
proprietary driver
Status in linux-lts-raring source package in Saucy:
Fix Released
Bug description:
CID: 201204-10924 Lenovo V480
Steps:
1. Install 12.04.3 + update (3.8.0-33), boot to desktop
2. Install the proprietary video driver (nvidia-319-updates)
3. Suspend it by closing the lid
Expected result:
- System could be suspended.
Actual result:
- The system was not suspended, the display will be turned off,
but when you open the lid again, it behaves like nothing happened before.
Error message could be found in dmesg:
[ 542.875134] thinkpad_acpi: unhandled HKEY event 0x60a0
It looks like it's the same thing that Hui Wang found in comment #19
of bug 1089105
And this laptop could be suspended / resumed normally by using the "Suspend" option
in the system menu.
Along with bug 1255468, this bug will make both of these two suspend
related bugs (w/, w/o proprietary driver) become blockers.
