[Bug 1499491] Re: 1002:67b1 Display connected on DisplayPort turns black during boot and never returns
Olivier Caro, given you have the latest BIOS, we can continue to pursue
it as a driver bug, and let an upstream developer make the call if there
is nothing that can be done on the driver side.
Despite this, a couple of follow up questions:
1) If you remove the Radeon HD 6670 so you only have the R9 290 installed, does this change anything?
2) With just the R9 290 installed, does using fglrx provide a WORKAROUND following https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BinaryDriverHowto/AMD ?
** Description changed:
The display connected on my R9 290 through DisplayPort connection turns
black during boot and never comes back again.
According to the power led, it is up and does not turn into power saving
mode.
According to xorg.0.log and System Settings / Display the display is
perfectly detected.
This display worked perfectly fine using the same DisplayPort cable,
running the same driver on my Radeon HD 6670.
- Description: Ubuntu 15.04
- Release: 15.04
- ---
+ I plugged the R9 290 into a Asus M2NPV-VM based PC running Ubuntu
+ 14.04.3 (3.13.0-63-generic). The same display connected on the same
+ displayport did work fine.
