  [lucid][R500 X1400] intermitent screen corruption (pink world ) -
regression from -20 to -21 kernel

Status in The Linux Kernel:

Status in X.org XServer - ATI gfx chipset driver:

Status in “linux” source package in Lucid:

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-ati

I upgraded to Lucid and finally use the ati driver.

Every 5 seconds, my screen freezes and starts to become corrupted. It
becomes lighter and a light pink/green glow comes from the bottom of
the screen and starts to eat the screen until I move the mouse. When I
move the mouse, it takes 2 seconds to go back to normal but moving the
mouse does not prevent the corruption from appearing. (it's just
needed to stop it once it started).

There's also some light garbage everywhere on the screen and the
  screen looks striped.

Interestingly enough, the green/pink glow also appeas in console in X
  is started.

This is for sure a ATI bug as there's no problem when using the VESA
  driver.
