[Bug 1500860] Re: 3.13.0-65 upgrade vs. usb serial adapter

I'm reporting here that also Arduino community is being affected ( https://github.com/arduino/Arduino/issues/3923 )
We had one report in 15 days with the bug out but I fear the number will grow as soon as people update their kernels

Title:
3.13.0-65 upgrade vs. usb serial adapter

Status in linux-lts-trusty package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
    affects ubuntu

  Hi there,

I'm using Kubuntu 14.04 32bit and 64bit on two different machines. Doing
embedded programming on a daily base, I'm using USB to serial adapters
based on the CP2102 IC. No problem so far. Today (September 29th) I
upgraded both computers from 3.13.0-63 to 3.13.0-65 as usual with this
  command and passwd:

  sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade -y && sudo apt-get
  dist-upgrade -y

After this and reboot, on both machines none of my several USB-serial
Adapters seem to work properly. I can receive with e.g. cutecom, but I
cannot send anymore. Any help will be apppreciated.

  Thanks Andreas
